What should you know about choose the arrangement around the work?

A permanent vacancy, a shutdown and a new shift do not need the same recruiting brief. Start with the work that is waiting and who will be responsible for it. Is this someone you want to develop inside the plant, or a specialist needed for a defined piece of work?

Does the person need to lead others, sign off a process or keep a particular machine running?

We start with permanent placement on contingency. The other options are available on request, with terms set for that engagement. We do not turn a normal permanent opening into a contract assignment just because it is difficult to fill. If the need is high-volume general labor rather than a skilled hire, we say so.

What should you know about permanent placement is the default?

For a permanent search, tell us what the person will inherit. A maintenance opening might be mostly breakdown response, or it might need someone to build a planning routine that the current team has never had. A plant manager could be taking over a stable operation or walking into weak supervision and missed schedules.

Those differences decide who belongs in the search.

We approach people doing relevant work now and qualify their experience against your brief. A title match is only a starting point. The fee is a percentage of first-year base salary, agreed in writing before we start. There is no upfront fee. You pay only if you hire. We agree the payment trigger in the recruiting agreement rather than leave it for the offer stage.

What should you know about temp-to-perm is an option, not the default?

Sometimes you want to see a skilled person working on your floor before making a permanent decision. Temp-to-perm can be considered on request. The trial and the move to your payroll need clear terms for the particular engagement. We discuss what you will evaluate and who is making that decision, not just whether the person turns up reliably.

A trial cannot repair an unclear job. If your supervisors disagree about the role, or the equipment is not ready, a capable technician can still struggle. Agree the shift, reporting line and training support before asking someone to take that risk. We also explain the intended arrangement during candidate conversations so the person is not expecting an ordinary permanent offer.

What should you know about contract work needs a defined assignment?

For shutdowns, launches or backfills, explain the task and the point at which it is complete. Troubleshooting an unfamiliar controls system is not the same brief as installing equipment against an approved plan. State who provides drawings, who authorizes changes and what access the person will have to the production floor.

Contract recruiting is available on request and quoted role by role. We discuss the engagement terms before approaching people. Travel expectations, site access and supervision belong in that discussion. Where a local staffing vendor is a better fit for the assignment, we will tell you. Agree who supervises the assignment and who signs off the work before considering a contract hire.

What should you know about a shift ramp needs its skilled core first?

Opening another shift takes more than enough operators to fill the schedule. The shift needs people who can set the equipment, support a breakdown and decide when a quality problem requires a stop. A line lead also needs to train people and keep the handoff to the next shift from becoming a list of unanswered questions.

We recruit that skilled core: leads, setup people, maintenance and quality technicians. We do not supply high-volume general labor. Your staffing vendor can cover that part while we work on the seats that need direct headhunting. Tell us which hires must be in place before training begins and which experienced people will transfer from an existing shift.

What should you know about local, relocation and traveling searches?

For local hires, a workable commute matters as much as technical experience. An off-shift technician may face different travel and family constraints from a day-shift engineer. We discuss the actual start and finish times, not just the label on the shift. A candidate who can reach the plant but cannot keep that schedule is not a practical match.

For relocation, define where the work takes place and what help is available before interviews. Traveling assignments need a clear account of where the person goes, what they do on arrival and how the travel pattern affects home life. We recruit nationwide, but we do not treat willingness to travel as a substitute for the right process background.

What to send us?

Begin with the role, your work email and phone. The first step saves your request. Other details are optional afterward. A job description helps, but a short explanation of what has gone wrong with the search can be more useful than another list of duties.

Tell us if a person passed the interview but could not do the work, or if capable candidates kept turning down the shift.

We can then separate the requirements that really decide fit from the preferences that unnecessarily shrink the pool. We will ask about decision authority, training and what a good hire must be able to handle without constant supervision. You should be able to explain why each person on the shortlist fits that particular plant, not merely why their resume contains the right words.

  1. 1. Search Calibration

You get a hiring brief that separates the work, reporting authority and non-negotiable requirements. We agree what would make a candidate worth an interview before contacting anyone.

  2. 2. Market Mapping

You get a defined search pool, not a reposted vacancy. We identify the kinds of plants and teams where people already handle comparable equipment, processes and operating demands.

  3. 3. Professional Contact Intelligence

You get a way to reach working people directly. We check professional contact routes and approach candidates discreetly, without making your plant or vacancy public unless you approve.

  4. 4. Persistent Personalized Outreach

You get individual conversations about the actual opening. We explain the work, shift and location, ask whether a move makes sense, and follow up without pretending every person is interested.

  5. 5. Live Candidate Qualification

You get evidence of fit before spending interview time. We talk through decisions, equipment, results and reasons for moving, then distinguish direct experience from skills that would need support.

  6. 6. Candidate Intelligence and Process Support

You get a focused short list with the information behind it. We explain motivation, practical constraints and concerns, support interviews, and keep offer decisions with your hiring team.

What should you know before sending how we work?

When do you pay a recruiting fee?

No upfront fee. You pay only if you hire. The signed recruiting agreement sets the fee basis and payment terms. Sending an opening does not itself commit you to a fee or an exclusive arrangement.

How long does it take to see a short list?

We discuss the search conditions before describing a realistic next step. Shift, location, equipment match and the candidate's reasons for moving all matter. We do not promise a shortlist date before understanding the opening.

How do you handle counteroffers?

We ask what is driving the move before introducing a candidate. We discuss what might change if the current employer offers more money or a different job. Your team still decides whether that person's motivation fits the opening.

What replacement terms apply?

We offer a candidate replacement guarantee on standard search agreements. The applicable period and exact terms are set out in the signed client recruiting agreement.

What do you not do?

We do not bill hourly for a standard permanent search, repost a job-board ad as a search, or supply high-volume general labor. Retainers are not the default. Any different arrangement must be agreed in writing.
