How should you use a BLS band in a job posting?

Manufacturing Headhunters provides the posting-range tool to copy a published occupation's middle wage band with its source attached. Select the role and worksite area, then read the mapping note before copying. The output is wage evidence, not a statement of your company's approved compensation or a legal determination of the range your advertisement must disclose.

A posting should explain the work alongside the pay. For a setup seat, state whether the person proves programs, selects tooling or only follows a released setup sheet. For maintenance, separate electrical diagnosis from mechanical repair expectations. A source-backed band will not correct a description that asks one title to carry another job's authority.

Check the pay basis before pasting the text into an advertisement. An annual amount and an hourly amount describe different presentation choices, and some occupations have only one released basis. Do not add an assumed overtime schedule to make the published range fit a shift package. Explain any employer-paid premiums separately using your own approved terms.

The middle band is not an experience ladder. Its lower endpoint does not mean entry level, and its upper endpoint does not certify a senior person. BLS percentile points summarize reported wages. If you need a senior hire to approve methods or lead others, describe that added scope and check whether a different occupation is the more honest reference.

Before the advertisement goes live, have the person responsible for pay approve the actual range and the person responsible for the work approve the duties. Keep the source line if you quote the BLS band so a reader can distinguish public evidence from the employer's offer. When a figure is unavailable or bounded, preserve that limitation rather than replacing it with an estimated endpoint.

Is the copied middle band the range I must offer?

No: It is the published P25 to P75 interval for the mapped occupation and area. Set and approve your own compensation terms, check applicable posting requirements, and keep the BLS reference clearly separate from the amount you are willing to pay.
